Fueled by some designer coffee I felt a little extra giddy up in my step as I set out on a mid afternoon run. Clear skies and milder temperatures made for a nice run of a total of 11 miles. After a quick shower I headed over to Local 44 for a tasting of Wyndridge Farm Brewing (Dallastown, PA). After sampling both ciders we tried the 10 Point Ale and the Laughing Crow IPA, of which I preferred the latter. Among some additional brews not listed on the website included the Imperial Porter (7.5%). I rarely, if ever, drink Porters so I was happy to give it a shot. The flavor was earthy, even chalky and utilizes both chocolate and vanilla flavors. As far as my limited experience with Porter brews go I found this one to be well crafted and highly drinkable.
